Soccer Playoffs

Well the soccer season is officially over! The girls made a valiant effort, but were unable to pull off a final win. We only had 8 players (the rest were at grad/injured/MIA), and the other team had 15. The other coach took off some of his players so we were playing 8 against 8. I thought that was really nice of him because it gave us half a chance. We were down before he evened out the players, and although we outplayed them after that, we just couldn't get the ball in the net. We had a lot of chances, but the girls feel they have to be practically in the net before they can shoot. That of course leads to either losing the ball, or having it caught by the goalie.

I think one of my girls broke her wrist (you could hear the crack from the other end of the field) but she refused to be taken to the hospital. I made her promise to let her parents take her after I dropped her off. We put ice on it, but it was getting pretty swollen. Hopefully it's just a sprain, but at least we have no more games!

The girls decided that they wanted to have a wrap up party, so I guess I'm in charge of organizing! Good thing I have no job and no life!

Gotta Start Somewhere

Well this is my first post on this blog. My plan is to update weekly (or more) and keep track of what is happening in my life. Right now I am unemployed and not in school, so I have time! Hopefully that will change soon, and I will get a job. My problem is finding the motivation to go out and get a job. I've applied at a few places, but haven't heard back from any. Part of me is glad, because then I don't have to go for an interview *shudder*, but the bigger part of me is wondering how my bank account is going to feel if I continue on this path. Technically, I've only been without a job for 4 days. People said I was crazy for quitting without another job lined up. I must admit at the time, it seemed like a good idea. On this side of the fence, however, I'm starting to agree with them!

Soccer is coming to an end this week. This year I volunteered to help coach a girls soccer team. It has been a lot of fun. I didn't know any of the girls at first, but they are a good group and try hard (when they bother to show up!). We won our last playoff game (after losing the first two), so we play tomorrow for 5th or 6th place. I'm glad to have finally won a game again, but I think the girls are tired of playing. The ones who show up all the time, are getting tired of playing without a full team. It's frustrating but there isn't much I can do about it. I can't kidnap them and force them to play (although at this point I would like to!). For the first half of the season they would all show up, and be early! Now they straggle in with 5 minutes to spare (if at all), no matter how early you tell them to show up. Teenagers.

Tonight, I'm going to hang out with my boyfriend J. I haven't seen him for a few days (the story of our relationship, however it keeps us from getting sick of each other!) so it should be nice. With any luck he'll cook me dinner, since leftovers are on the menu here tonight!

Well that's all for now.
