Yesterday I got my hair cut. It's pretty short, and I wasn't sure how I felt about it. Everybody at work kept telling me it looked great so I started to feel better about it. Enter loud mouthed girl from highschool.
"I hate your hair! What the hell did you do to it?!"
"uh... thanks."
"No seriously. It looks awful! I used to be so jealous of your hair. What the hell were you thinking?"
...
Some people need to learn the art of shutting the fuck up.
My mother taught me if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all. Hate the haircut? Tell me how cute my earrings are. It's simple, and it won't make me want to bash your face in with a telephone (the closest thing in my reach). It annoys me that there are people out there that feel it is their duty to tell you how awful you look. It's like, uh thank you? What are you honestly supposed to say to that? It bothered me for about a minute until I realized who was talking, and how much her opinion really doesn't matter to me.
