Yes We Can!

I'm watching the US election coverage today.

I just learned why voting takes place on the first Tuesday in November. Back in the day November was after the harvest season, therefore people would be able would be able to take the time off. Why Tuesday? Sunday everybody went to church, and Monday was used for travel to the polling site. I think it's interesting how traditions start from something so practical.

"There is a moment when history lives in the present" - CNN

It's unreal to watch this election unfold. History will be made no matter the outcome. Either the first black President, or the first woman Vice President. I'm all for women in power, but not this time around. Go Obama!

Election Day

It's Election Day, here in the good old country of Canada.

I had a conversation with a friend today on our way to the polls. We both strongly believe in voting. I don't care who you vote for, but I think it's important that you do it. We are so lucky to be able to vote. So many people in this world are denied this privilege. Also, being of the female gender, I feel extremely fortunate to be given this freedom. Women fought hard for the right to vote, and I think it is a disservice to them to sit at home on Election Day.

So if you haven't yet, GO VOTE!
